Guidance notes for Merit Competitions
- Prints should be entered mounted on a suitable mount not exceeding 500 x 400mm or 20” x 16” inch. Within that the print may be any size.
- Print Panels should be the same and should be at least three images and should be symmetrical when laid out on our easel, which supports three rows in height and approx four landscapes or five portrait images in width. Multiple images will be accepted on one mount.
- Print Merits will be judged for a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for colour, the first half of the competition, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for mono in the second half of the competition. There will also be a selection of Highly Commended and Commended prints.
- Digital images should be sized no greater than 800 high x 1280px wide, Jpeg, RGB, with the title saved with the image as you would like to see it on screen (capitals in the right place and spellings checked) and all images saved in a folder with your name on, unless sending Via E-mail, any problems with re-sizing images and converting this can be done for you when the digital competition is put together. Images are accepted on USB memory stick, CD, Memory card or E-mail. Any memory sticks or cards etc; will be kept until the following meeting.
- Slides should have your name and title on, also a DOT usually red in the right hand top corner facing the projectionist, to show which way round the slide is to be entered in the projector, this saves the organiser looking at every slide to work out which way up and which way around the image should be shown.
